SEED UNITS™ AND BIOTECHNOLOGY FOR CULTIVATION OF GOAT'S RUE FOR FORAGE

This unique Russian know-how of biotechnological production of Goat’s rue (Galega orientalis) has been implemented and successfully used already in 400 farming enterprises in 40 regions of Russia (North-Western Federal District, Central Federal District, Volga Federal District, Southern Federal District and Siberian Federal District). The herbage yield is 400-800 centners/hectare annually during 10-20 years without application of any fertilizers or pesticides..

This biotechnological method is simple in application and has been adjusted to practically any types of soils and irrigation/watering; it does not need deep tillage – only scarification or No-Till. Seeding of specially prepared seed units of Goat’s rue™ can be carried out using any available seeding machinery of both Russian and other countries' produce.

Seeds in excess of 100 s.u. shall be controlled by LC "Petersburg Biotechnologies" specialists.

  Benefits of the biotechnology:

 ·  It allows you to use the forage Goat’s rue for producing any types of fodder: hay, haylage, silo (made of dried mass), herbage, grass meals (produced at "CYCLONE"-type plants) and for grazing.

 ·     Increases raw protein content by up to 25-30 % (in dry weight).

 ·     Produces all essential amino acids (part., Lysine).

 ·   Increases the % of carotene, citric acid and vitamins in herbage.

 ·   Ensures high yield of metabolic energy of 100 GJ/ha, which provides, if using only this type of fodder, an annual feed for 2 cows with the milk yield of 6 000 liters of milk per year, of for 1 cattle animal of foreign breed with the milk yield of 12 000 liters of milk per year.

Special preparation of seed units using some components of the biotechnology allows you to control the growth and development of plants without human intervention, to provide plants with all necessary nutritive elements, and, finally, to protect them from disease, pests and weeds, without ever affecting the natural environmental balance. This bio-method ensures even sprouts, dark-green colour of leaves, and better rooting on the 1st year.

Sowing Goat’s rue in seed units means a guarantee of good overwintering, of early and fast growth of plants in Spring, of the first-mowing ripeness in May - June, the second mowing aftergrowth by July – August and the third mowing aftergrowth by September – October, which allows you to provide your cattle with both early- and late-season green fodder. Goat’s rue herbage produced with the biotechnology doesn’t cause meteorism in cattle; its content of alkaloids, particularly galegine (a natural stimulator of milk secretion in cows), is lower than in clover or medick.

The biotechnology of Goat’s rue cultivation allows you to increase the humus content in soil by 0.5-1.0 % in 8-10 years, and to boost the share of the moving forms of phosphorus and potassium along with agronomically valuable water-stable aggregations. Incorporation (spread) of 1 metric ton of Goat’s rue’s herbage is equivalent to application of 5 metric tons of cattle manure; at the same time it doesn’t infest the soil with weed seeds or unwanted microflora. The Goat’s rue biotechnology ensures 150-250 kg/ha of honey yield annually.

Therefore, the biotechnology of cultivating fodder Goar’s rue allows you to form a long-term and wholesomely nutritive forage resource, in short time and at a low cost, for livestock and poultry farming, in any Russia's region or in other countries.
